In an emotional gesture, the guide went down on his knees and proposed to the athlete after her race was over. Despite finishing short of a podium finish, she ended up happy for this gesture from her guide.
Para-athlete Keula Nidreia Pereira Semedo accepted a surprise proposal for wedding from her guide at the end of the 200m race, on Thursday at the Tokyo Paralympics 2020.
