Afghanistan opener Rahmanullah Gurbaz was the centre of a frightening injury scare during AFG vs WI 3rd T20I 2026 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. In the 15th over of Afghanistan’s run chase, Gurbaz was struck flush on the face (jaw) by a throw from the deep. The impact was so severe that his helmet flew off, and the wicketkeeper-batter collapsed to the ground, which was followed by an immediate response from players and medical staff. Rahman continued his batting after the injury scare and scored a valiant 71 off 58, but could not help Afghanistan past the finish line, as his side fell 15 runs short and lost the final T20I.
