Barbora Krejcikova struggled to hold back her tears as she saw her late mentor, Jana Novotna's name, on the Wimbledon Honours board after winning the women's singles title. Krejcikova overcame Jasmine Paolini in the final to win the Wimbledon for the first time in her career and this victory took her Grand Slam tally to two. After the match, Krejcikova was taken to the Honours board, where she spotted Novotna's name. She had won the Wimbledon in 1998 and Krejcikova broke down into tears after seeing her name. After the match, the 28-year-old also said that she was thinking about Novotna, who was her coach and mentor.
