Perplexity has rolled out a major upgrade to its Comet browser’s assistant by offering better performance and smarter handling of complex, multi-site workflows. In a blog post, Perplexity said, "Your new Comet Assistant can also take more types of actions, which means it can help you with a wider variety of tasks." As per internal testing, users can expect a 23% improvement in performance, leading to more accurate answers and smoother completions, even for long or multi-step tasks. Along with performance gains, Comet Assistant has also updated how it asks for user permissions. It will now seek approval before taking any action in the browser and will remember the user’s choice once granted.
