IND 63/1 in 18 Overs (Target: 121) at Stumps | India vs West Indies Highlights of 2nd Test 2025 Day 4: KL Rahul, Sai Sudharsan Take India Near Victory

Stumps! India are within touching distance of a win as they need only 58 runs with nine wickets still remaining on Day 5. Day 4 a solid resistance from West Indies, with Shai Hope and John Campbell scoring centuries and later some gritty partnership from the likes of Justin Greaves and Jayden Seales. West Indies saved the innings defeat, but couldn't set a target enough to challenge India. Although India lost Yashasvi Jaiswal's wicket, KL Rahul and Sai Sudharsan kept their innings steady and brought them to touching distance of a win. 

KL Rahul and Sai Sudharsan have kept the scoreboard ticking and has been nearing the target gradually without taking additional risks. They are making sure, India doesn't have any stumbles or hiccups on their way to the target. 

After the dismissal of Yashasvi Jaiswal, KL Rahul and Sai Sudharsan have not looked to rush things and took their time to get themselves in. They know they still have a day to chase down a small target and there is no need to rush. They have been cautious and are aiming to build their innings. 

Out! Yashasvi Jaiswal departs trying to score quickly. Jomel Warrican, who was West Indies' most successful bowler in the previous innings, strikes again, Jaiswal steps out to hit Warrican over long-on, but fails to clear as Anderson Phillips takes an easy catch, With Jaiswal departing, it is unlikely India can chase down the target on Day 4. Jaiswal c Anderson Phillip b Warrican 8(7).

Out! Finally Jasprit Bumrah breaks the long-standing partnership between Justin Greaves and Jayden Seales as he scalps the wicket of the latter. Seales tried to flick Bumrah and got hold of the ball but the deep square leg fielder Washington Sundar gulped the catch. The wicket came moments after Greaves completed his half-century. India need 121 runs to win. Definitely not enough for West Indies to win the game, but they will be happy to avoid an innings defeat through strong resistance. Jayden Seales c Washington Sundar b Bumrah 32(67).

India have bowled seven overs post-tea and they have not been able to trouble the two tailenders on the crease. They have put up a steady resistance and keep on frustrating India. They are looking to take the game as deep as possible and keep their chances alive. India, once again, struggle to clean the tail. 

TEA on Day 4! Justin Greaves and Jayden Seales have shown nerves of steel as they continue to frustrate India with this partnership. West Indies suffered a collapse from being 271/4 at one stage to 311/9, but the two tail-enders have ensured that West Indies do not give up just yet. India have done well, but this stand will be incredibly frustrating as the visitors' lead now has inched close to 100 runs. The second session was extended by 30 more minutes with the last pair batting, but West Indies continue their fightback. We shall be back with the third and last session of the day, soon! 

Justin Greaves and Jayden Seales have stretched West Indies' lead here and it is now close to the 100-run mark. This last pair has shown a lot of resilience and determination and this is extremely impressive from the two tail-enders who have annoyed India with this stubborn partnership. 

Jayden Seales and Justin Greaves are fighting it out there for the West Indies. With one wicket remaining, there is not much West Indies can get from here and the two Windies cricketers will hope to add as many runs as possible from here on. 

OUT! Jasprit Bumrah has another wicket and it is that of Anderson Phillip! The tail-ender got a faint outside edge and Dhruv Jurel did no mistake in taking the catch. OUT! Kuldeep Yadavhas picked up two wickets in one over, dismissing Roston Chase and Khary Pierre! India have bounced back well in this match and West Indies once again are under pressure in this Test match, knowing that a good total might not be on the cards. OUT! Kuldeep Yadav has struck and much like in the first innings, traps Tevin Imlach LBW! It was short delivery and the Tevin Imlach was struck on his pads. The umpire raised his finger and West Indies lose another. Tevin Imlach lbw b Kuldeep Yadav 12(13)

OUT! Mohammed Siraj has provided India with the wicket they so desperately wanted as he gets rid of Shai Hope! The right-hander, who reached his century a while ago, got an inside edge against the ball that kept low and it crashed into the stumps. Shai Hope b Mohammed Siraj 103(214)

West Indies are in the lead now and they will now look to pile on as many runs as possible from here on. India on the other hand, continue their hunt for wickets and will need something magical here. 

HUNDRED for Shai Hope! It is his third century in Test cricket and this has been a stellar performance. The right-hander has been at the centre of West Indies' fightback alongside John Campbell and has played a great knock here. He will now look to convert this into a big hundred. He also crossed 2000 runs in Test cricket. 

India have taken the second new ball in this innings and Jasprit Bumrah has been brought back into the attack. India are desperate for a wicket here which could pave the way for more to come. Interesting phase of the game to watch out for.

The post-lunch session has resumed and this is going to be a pretty crucial one in the context of the match. West Indies will look towards gaining a sizeable lead in the IND vs WI 2nd Test while India would aim at bowling out the visitors for as low a score as possible. 

LUNCH on Day 4! What a day it has been for West Indies, who have fought back valiantly in this match. And it has been on the back of a splendid maiden Test century from the bat of John Campbell. The left-hander and Shai Hope continued the good work from Day 3 and it has been some performance this. Shai Hope (92*) and Roston Chase (23*) are out in the middle and they will look to erase the deficit totally in the second session and also work towards gaining a sizeable lead. India's first and only success came in the form of John Campbell, who was dismissed by Ravindra Jadeja shortly after his hundred and this batting performance by the West Indies have might have pushed India to rethink if they were right to enforce the follow-on or even the timing of it.
