That's it! Mumbai Indians are into the IPL 2025 playoffs as they beat Delhi Capitals by 59 runs! What a match this has been from the Mumbai Indians, who fought back and produced a dominant show with the ball in hand. Delhi Capitals have been knocked out and now we have the four teams in the playoffs! This is a tremendous comeback by the Mumbai Indians who looked down and out after losing a string of matches in the first half of IPL 2025 but Hardik Pandya and his men were able to put together a winning combination which has taken them to the playoffs. Last year, Hardik Pandya was booed everywhere he played in the IPL but he has made a statement this time around. Mumbai Indians enter the playoffs for the 11th time in IPL history and they will have their eyes firmly fixed on winning a sixth title, their first since 2020. On the other hand, it is yet another campaign for Delhi Capitals which promised to be a bright one but fizzled out in the end.
At one stage in IPL 2025, it seemed Delhi Capitals were destined for a playoffs berth but poor results altered their campaign big time. Coming to the match, it never looked that Mumbai Indians would be able to post an imposing total until the Suryakumar Yadav-Naman Dhir onslaught began in the last few overs. Mumbai Indians were able to post an imposing 180/5 on a tough track and then their bowlers came out blazing, picking up wickets at regular intervals. Mitchell Santner and Jasprit Bumrah shared six wickets between themselves as Delhi Capitals were bowled out for 121 in 18.2 overs. Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals both have Punjab Kings as their last opponent in IPL 2025 group stage. Jaipur will host both the games with DC vs PBKS being on May 24 and MI vs PBKS on May 26.

Mumbai Indians have finished with 180/5 and it has been a mighty impressive effort from Suryakumar Yadav. He and Naman Dhir put together 57 runs off just 21 deliveries and the five-time champions have finished on a high. At one stage, they seemed to be headed for a score in the region of 150-160, but the late flourish, with the last two overs yielding 58 runs, tilted the momentum totally in favour of the Mumbai Indians. Mumbai Indians have scored 27 runs off the 19th over bowled by Mukesh Kumar and this should give them momentum to make the most of the remaining six balls. Mukesh Kumar was cramping in the over but he still continued and Delhi Capitals have lost some of the momentum they had garnered.
