Pakistan have beaten Bangladesh and they will face India for a third time in Asia Cup 2025 final! India vs Pakistan is set to take place in the Asia Cup 2025 final on Sunday, September 25 and it has been a magnificent show from the Green Shirts, especially with the ball in hand. It is also the first time that the Asia Cup will witness an India vs Pakistan final. What a win this has been! Batting first, Pakistan went absolutely nowhere with the start they had, being reduced to 49/5 at one stage. But Pakistan managed to post a substantial score on the board in the form of 135/8. For Pakistan, Mohammad Haris (31) and Mohammad Nawaz (25) made significant late contributions while for Bangladesh, Taskin Ahmed was the best bowler (3/28). Rishad Hossain (2/18) and Mahedi Hasan (2/28) also were amongst the wickets. Pakistan were simply superb with ball in hand as they put pressure on Bangladesh's batters right from the start. Bangladesh had a forgettable approach with the bat as they lost wickets at regular intervals in a bid to score quickly and no one looked in control. Shamim Hossain was the top-scorer for Bangladesh with 30 runs. With the ball, Shaheen Afridi clinched 3/17 while Haris Rauf also bagged a three-fer (3/33). Saim Ayub picked up two wickets while Mohammad Nawaz finished with one wicket. All set now for an India vs Pakistan final on September 28! Haris Rauf is being treated on the field after going down on his follow-through. It has caused a stoppage in play. Pakistan will hope that he is fine and is alright to continue. 

OUT! Shaheen Afridi has his third wicket of the match and it is that of Shamim Hossain, who was Bangladesh's hope of getting past the finish line. So are down to the final five overs and Bangladesh need 51 runs off 30 balls! Shamim Hossain really holds the key for Bangladesh here while for Pakistan, they need to do what they have done so far.

The required run rate has kept shooting up and Bangladesh find themselves in a spot of bother here. They need rotation of strike as well as the boundaries and at Pakistan continue to put more pressure on the Bangladesh batters.

Pakistan continue to pile pressure on Bangladesh with Mohammad Nawaz conceding just four runs off his second over. Bangladesh need to rotate strike and also find the boundaries with the required run rate slowly growing. 

Drinks! We are at the halfway mark here and Bangladesh have not done themselves much good here with that reckless batting display. Bangladesh have lost wickets at regular intervals and haven't rotated much strike as well. Nurul Hasan Sohan and Shamim Hossain will look to form a partnership with the total not being much while Pakistan will look for more wickets. Bangladesh need 78 runs in 60 balls to win.

OUT! Mohammad Nawaz has struck and he has taken the wicket of Mahedi Hasan! Bangladesh's innings have not gotten any momentum so far and it continues with another player biting the dust. Nurul Hasan Sohan and Mahedi Hasan are out in the middle for Bangladesh and they need to form a partnership here. This chase has turned out to be a tricky one while from Pakistan's point of view, another couple of wickets would put them totally in control here!

OUT! Shaheen Afridi has his second wicket of the game and it is that of Towhid Hridoy! The right-hander, who struggled so far, attempted to slog the ball away but got a top-edge and Saim Ayub ended up taking a simple catch. Saif Hassan has played some good shots here and he has continued the good form he showed against India. He and Towhid Hridoy will look to make the most of the remaining two overs in the powerplay as Pakistan hunt for more wickets. 

Saif Hassan and Towhid Hridoy will look for a partnership here. Losing Parvez Hossain Emon wasn't the ideal start but Bangladesh would hope to make the most of the powerplay with these two batters. Meanwhile, Pakistan eye more wickets.

The left-hander attempted a pull shot, got the elevation but no distance and Mohammad Nawaz does well to take the catch. Pakistan have set a 136-run target for Bangladesh to chase down and this has been a fighting performance from the Green Shirts as they have some sort of score on the board. Bangladesh, on the other hand, have had a good time with the ball in hand and now, will have their eyes firmly set on chasing this down. Pakistan had a horror show with the bat and it was  only because of Mohammad Haris (31), Shaheen Afridi (19), Mohammad Nawaz (25) and Faheem Ashraf (14*) that they could get to this total. For Bangladesh, a returning Taskin Ahmed was the best bowler with three wickets for 28 runs while Rishad Hossain (2/18) and Mahedi Hasan (2/28) scalped two each.
