Royal Challengers Bangalore vs Mumbai Indians Highlights And Cricket Score 31th Match - T20 Summary

End of Over : 19.0 MI: 172/5

That is it from this match then. With this win, Mumbai move to third in the points table with 10 points. Delhi also have 10, but they have a better net run rate. Whereas Bangalore lose their 7th game out of 8, making it very difficult for them to qualify for the knockouts. Action continues on Tuesday as Punjab host Rajasthan at the IS Bindra stadium, Mohali. That match begins at 8 pm IST (1430 GMT). Join us for that one. Till then, cheers!

LASITH MALINGA HAS BEEN NAMED THE MAN OF THE MATCH FOR HIS 4/31. Says that the last couple of games have been difficult for him but then he went back home, did well there and then came back here and performed. Feels that mentally one has to be prepared to tackle oppositions and then execute the plans on the field. Says that Mumbai had their plans against AB de Villiers and Malinga trusted his variations against him.

Victorious Mumbai skipper, Rohit Sharma, admires Hardik Pandya's hitting in the death overs, which has been helping the team big time. Stresses that it was something which he wanted to work upon and prove a point to himself more than anyone else. Adds that it holds the team in a better position as it knows that there is someone who can get the big hits in quick time at the death. On Lasith Malinga, Rohit says that he has always stressed on Malinga's importance and adds that his form is very critical. Hopes to look forward to more such performances from him. Adds that it is not easy bowling in the death overs at the Wankhede but Malinga excelled against AB de Villiers. Praises his bowlers overall for restricting Bangalore to a chaseable total. Is still bemused with so much turn on the Wankhede track and thanks the good start that the team got in the Powerplay. Finally says that he is still struggling to come to terms with the track here.

Bangalore captain, Virat Kohli, says they played a good game but were poor with the ball in the first 6 overs. Credits the way they bowled after though and came back in the game. Reckons that with the dew, it was difficult to bowl. Credits Moeen Ali for the way he played with both the bat and the ball. He says that Moeen is a senior player and it is good to see him perform.

Spare a thought for Moeen Ali and AB de Villiers. The duo scored more than 70 percent of the runs and then Ali bowled superbly as well. But the batting did not step up at well, mustering only 171, which turned out to be a below-par score on this surface.

Here comes Hardik, to have a chat with Mel Jones. Praises de Kock and Rohit for setting up the run chase. Reckons that Bangalore did not bowl well in the Powerplay and that is what hurt them. Stresses that Mumbai have hit-the-deck bowlers and they utilized the wicket to perfection. Feels that AB de Villiers' run out could also be crucial, probably creating a difference of 15-20 runs.

A clinical performance, one can say from Mumbai. Probably, the only criticism can come for Ishan Kishan, throwing his wicket away at a crucial juncture but otherwise a superb batting display. Hardik Pandya strut his stuff at the end, with a 16-ball 37.

Chasing 172, Mumbai had a hurricane start, racing to 70 in 7 overs. But a few quick wickets pushed them back, raising hopes of a Bangalore comeback. Moeen Ali and Yuzvendra Chahal were spinning a web and returned with figures of 8-0-45-4. But once they were done, Mumbai just coasted again. None of the others were impressive and dew did not help their cause either.

Not quite totally unexpected. Mumbai were favourites to win the game and they did so, albeit stretching it to the 19th over. Bangalore were always a few runs light and that proved right in the end.

18.6 1

Pawan Negi to Hardik Pandya. That's it! Mumbai have won it and Hardik Pandya has finished it in the 19th over. Full on off, Hardik flat-bats it to long on and takes a single. Mumbai win by 5 wickets.

Mohammed Siraj to Hardik Pandya. WIDE. Hardik walks across and Siraj bowls it well outside off. It is outside the tramline and signalled a wide.

17.5 W

Mohammed Siraj to Krunal Pandya. OUT! Siraj gets his first of the match and just what a time to get it! Good length delivery on middle. Siraj takes the pace off the ball. Krunal looks to flick it over mid-wicket but chips it towards cow corner. Substitute Milind Kumar there comes running in and takes a very good catch. Will that help Bangalore or Mumbai? Krunal's wicket will not hurt Mumbai much...

17.4 1

17.2 4

Mohammed Siraj to Hardik Pandya. FOUR! Easy peasy for Hardik. A short ball, outside off, Hardik smashes it over the bowler. One bounce and into the fence.

17.1 1

Mohammed Siraj to Krunal Pandya. MISFIELD FROM KOHLI! And he is furious with himself. Full and outside off, Krunal punches it towards mid off and takes Kohli on. The skipper is ready to pick up and throw but fumbles at the last moment. Kicks the ball away in disgust.
