Stumps on Day 1! The rain in Galle has forced early stumps on Day 1 of the SL vs AUS 1st Test 2025 but not before a splendid performance from Australia's batters. Usman Khawaja and Travis Head set the tone early on Day 1 with their magnificent partnership. And even while the latter was dismissed, Usman Khawaja continued and broke his string of poor performances with a splendid unbeaten century *147 and Steve Smith joined the party, first by getting to 10,000 runs in Tests and then with a remarkable 35th century. For Sri Lanka, Prabath Jayasuriya and Jeffrey Vandersay were the wicket-takers and apart from them, no one had any success. The action will resume on Day 2 of the SL vs AUS 1st Test 2025 where Australia will aim at posting a massive first innings total while Sri Lanka would look to bowl them out for as soon as possible.
