India have won the most number of medals in the South Asian Games (SAG) history as in the previous 12 editions they have won a total of 2086 medals which includes 1100 gold, 651 silver and 345 bronze medals. They are followed by Pakistan with 1151 medals and Sri Lanka with 1143 medals. Maldives have won the least number of medals in the tournament over the years and are yet to win a gold medal.
