Valentine’s Day 2021 was marred by vandalism in Bhopal, MP as goons connected with former BJP MLA Surendra Nath Singh broke into a Hookah bar and proceeded to break glass walls, tables and chairs. After the restaurant manager lodged a complaint, Singh and six others were arrested for rioting and other charges. Singh alleged that hookah lounges are “breeding grounds for love jihad”. In a separate incident, Shiv Sena-affiliated workers entered a restaurant in the city's Arera Colony and vandalised the property, the police said.
