On March 3, Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party, which won the urban local body election named Priya Rajan as their candidate for the mayor’s post in Chennai Corporation. Chennai is all set to have 28-year-old Priya Ranjan is as the youngest and first ever Dalit woman as mayor. DMK secured all the 21 municipal corporations with 946 wards in corporations.
