New Delhi, August 31: India's G20 Presidency has garnered global attention with its theme "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam", or "One Earth · One Family · One Future," rooted in an ancient Sanskrit text, Maha Upanishad, reflecting unity and environmental responsibility. Hosting nearly 230 meetings across 60 cities nationwide, India's approach has democratised participation and showcased its diverse culture and economy to international delegates.

As the G20 Chair, India aims to address pressing global issues like development, climate change, health, counter-terrorism, and more. The G20 Summit, scheduled to take place in New Delhi on September 9-10, is expected to see participation from a range of global leaders addressing crucial global issues.

US President Joe Biden

The US will be represented by President Joe Biden who, along with other G20 partners, will be attending to discuss collaborative efforts in combatting climate change, addressing the economic and social impacts of the Ukraine conflict, and enhancing the role of multilateral development banks. UK PM Rishi Sunak

Britain's Indian origin Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is set to join the summit to discuss UK-India trade negotiations through a separate bilateral meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

South Korea President Yoon Suk Yeol

France President Emmanuel Macron

Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina

Bangladesh's Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to attend the G20 Summit. A bilateral meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and PM Sheikh Hasina is also anticipated.

Russia President Vladimir Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin will not attend the G20 Summit in person and will be represented by Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. Putin conveyed his decision to Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the phone.

China President Xi Jinping

Chinese President Xi Jinping is likely to skip the G20 Summit, and Premier Li Qiang is projected to represent China at the New Delhi meeting on September 9-10.

Countries Yet to Confirm Attendance

Several countries, including Saudi Arabia, Turkey, Mexico, Japan, Italy, Germany, Indonesia, Brazil, and Argentina, are yet to confirm their attendance at the G20 leaders summit in Delhi.

Apart from the key leaders of prominent international organisations such as the United Nations, International Monetary Fund, World Bank, World Health Organization, World Trade Organization, International Labour Organization, Financial Stability Board, and Organization of Economic Cooperation and Development, the upcoming G20 Summit in India will also witness participation from the African Union, AUDA-NEPAD, and ASEAN chairs. India's invitations have been extended to include the International Solar Alliance (ISA), Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI), and Asian Development Bank (ADB) for sending their representatives.
