26-year-old Man Commits Suicide in Southwest Delhi's RK Puram

A 26-year-old man has allegedly committed suicide by jumping off the terrace of his office building in southwest Delhi's RK Puram, police said on Friday.

New Delhi, Aug 2 (PTI) A 26-year-old man has allegedly committed suicide by jumping off the terrace of his office building in southwest Delhi's RK Puram, police said on Friday.

The man, Abhijeet Singh, used to work as a probationary officer in Vijaya Bank's Bhikaji Cama Place branch in RK Puram, they said. He lived with his family at a rented house in Tara Nagar, Dwarka, they added.

No suicide note was found from the spot, officials said.

According to the police, the incident took place on Thursday at around 2.30 pm. One of the company guards saw Singh walking on the terrace and climbing the boundary wall. But before the guard could stop him, he jumped, they said.

In the CCTV footage, the man could be seen walking near the boundary wall of the terrace, a senior police officer said.

The man was taken to the AIIMS trauma centre, where the doctors declared him dead, the officer said.

The body was handed over to the family after an autopsy, he said.

The police said the victim was alone on the terrace and ruled out any foul play.
