Pakur (Jharkhand), Nov 29 (PTI) Police on Thursday seized 89 cattle from two areas of Pakur district and arrested four persons on the charge of smuggling the animals to West Bengal.

On the directive of Pakur Superintendent of Police Shailendra Prasad Burnwal, a team conducted raids and arrested four persons from Simlong police outpost limits, police said.

Police seized 60 cattle were being transported illegally from adjoining Godda district, police said adding that a four-wheeler was also seized.

In another raid, police seized 29 cattle from Amrapara police station of the district.

The raids were conducted based on a tip off received by the SP.
