Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh) [India], Feb 23 (ANI): Australian cricket team skipper Aaron Finch has expressed hope that the team would continue with their good form from the recently-concluded Big Bash League (BBL) in the upcoming two-match T20I series against India, beginning February 24.“The T20 series will provide the guys to continue with their Big Bash form. In terms of One-day, we have a lot of areas to improve upon. It is an opportunity for us to nail down the pattern of play going into the World Cup. We have ten one-day internationals before the World Cup. So we will look to challenge India on their home ground,” Finch said during a media briefing. There have been speculations about who will be the opening partner alongside Finch but the skipper said that the final name for the position will be announced before the match, tomorrow."We have many options like Darcy Short, Marcus Stoinis. They all had successful Big Bash league, so we'll talk a call on the opener tomorrow," he said. There was huge controversy in Australia regarding the number of games in Big Bash but Finch believes that the number of matches is right.“No, I think the number of matches was right. More double-header matches could have been scheduled but fourteen is still the right number for the Big Bash league,” Finch said.Talking about the participation of David Warner and Steve Smith in the World Cup, Finch said, “There's a chance for the guys to step up. David sustained an elbow injury so the players can perform well and be there for the team if everything does not go according to the plan for the team.”Indian skipper Virat Kohli, earlier in his press conference, had said that Marcus Stoinis could be the potential game-changer for the Aussie side. Finch agreed with the India skipper and admitted that Marcus provides versatility to the side."Yeah, absolutely he can bowl four overs with the ball and he can bat at the top order or middle order. He provides great versatility to the team and having an all-rounder adds great depth to the team,” Finch said.India and Australia will begin their two-match T20I series on February 24 at the ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium, Visakhapatnam.
