Muzaffarpur (Bihar), Dec 6 (PTI) Two close aides of Brajesh Thakur, the prime accused in the shelter home sex scandal case here, were on Thursday sent to judicial remand after spending over a fortnight in the CBI's custody since their arrest by the probe agency last month.

Special POCSO judge R P Tiwari sent Madhu Kumari, who managed Thakur's businesses, and Ashwani - a self-styled medical practitioner who was attached to the shelter home as a "doctor" - to judicial custody for 14 days.

Madhu was arrested on November 21, a day after she was taken into custody by the CBI for questioning which is said to have provided the investigating agency with clues about Ashwani who was nabbed from his village in Kurhani block of the district.

Media reports have alleged that the inmates of the shelter home in Sahu Nagar locality - where sexual abuse was flagged in a social audit report of Mumbai-based Tata Institute of Social Sciences - were administered injections laced with sedatives by Ashwani with the help of Madhu.
