Chennai, Jan 9 (PTI): Host Tamil Nadu opened its campaign in the Arise Steel 9th Hockey India Senior National Men's Hockey Championship ('B' Division) here Wednesday with a 4-2 win over CISF in Pool 'G'.
Joshua opened the scoring for Tamil Nadu with a field goal in the 7th minute. CISF equalised in the 30th minute through Atif Ateeq.
The host team went ahead in the 34th minute when Rayer V Vinod scored a field goal only to see CISF level again in the 43rd minute through Niraj Yadav.
K Selvaraj put Tamil Nadu ahead in the 45th minute when he scored a field goal. In the 58th minute, the home team converted a penalty corner to seal the win.
Results: Pool F : Sports Authority of Gujarat Hockey Academy bt Hockey Himachal 3-1; Pool G : Hockey Unit of Tamilnadu bt Central Industrial Security Force 4-2.
Pool G: Hockey Puducherry bt Assam Hockey 8-2; Pool H: Hockey Cooorg bt Hockey Madhya Bharat 9-0; Sports Authority of India bt Goans Hockey 4-0.
Pool E: Delhi Hockey bt Hockey Rajasthan 3-2.
