Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], September 15 (ANI): An FIR had been filed at Kotkhai police station on Sunday by Himachal Pradesh Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Spokesperson Chetan Singh Bragta against the social media account "@TeamSaath" for an objectionable post, labelling the people performing the traditional 'Nati' dance during the festival of "Jagra" as terrorists.

In an official statement, Bargta stated that the offensive post had deeply hurt the religious sentiments of the people of Himachal Pradesh and attempted to create discord in society.

He further stated that the sacred traditions like 'Nati' which are performed during festivals like Jagra are vital for the cultural and spiritual heritage of the state, and equating these traditions with terrorism was "outrageous."

"The sacred traditions of Devbhoomi Himachal, including the 'Nati' performed during religious festivals like Jagra, are a vital part of our cultural and spiritual heritage. Equating these cultural expressions with terrorism is an outrageous insult that has deeply offended millions of people in the state," he said in the statement.

Following this, Bargta lodged an FIR concerned police station and called for strict legal action against those responsible for this hateful act.

He further said that such irresponsible and divisive acts on social media platforms would not be tolerated and added that it is critical to uphold the respect and sanctity of religious and cultural practices.
