New Delhi [India], October 19 (ANI): The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Thursday arrested another accused in connection with the case of a bomb blast in a Scorpio vehicle on June 21 this year in Kwakta area in Manipur's Bishnupur district.

Md Islauddin Khan was arrested in close coordination with Manipur Police, said the NIA, adding the case was initially registered by Manipur Police on June 21 and later re-registered by the NIA on June 23 at Imphal.

The NIA Investigations in the case revealed the involvement of Islauddin in the bomb blast that took place on June 21 in an IED-laden Scorpio vehicle parked over a bridge located in the area of Phougakchao Ikhai Awang Leikai and Kwakta along Tiddim road in Bishnupur district of Manipur. Three persons were injured and the bridge, alongwith nearby houses, was damaged as a result of the bomb blast.

After his arrest, Islauddin Khan was produced before the jurisdictional Court at Imphal whereupon the court remanded the accused to the NIA custody for seven days. (ANI)
