Bhopal, Sep 29 (PTI) A dead cow was allegedly suspended upside down in the back of a tractor-trolley, as was it was being taken away for disposal in Madhya Pradesh's Dewas district, prompting the local authorities to take action against two staffers, an official said on Wednesday.

The alleged incident took place in Sandalpur area of Nemawar town, about 120 km from Dewas district headquarters, on September 7, while a video of the same surfaced on social media on Wednesday.

Taking note of the video, the Nemawar Nagar Parishad terminated the services of a temporary employee and removed a sanitary inspector from his current charge, an official said.

Earlier in the day, representatives of Bajrang Dal had submitted a memorandum to tehsildar G S Patel.

“We have received the memorandum about a dead cow being taken on a tractor-trolley in an improper manner. Proper action will be taken after an inquiry,” Patel said.

Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Suryakant Sharma said the police had not received any complaint in this regard so far.

In the video, the carcass can be seen suspended upside down in the back of the tractor-trolley, it was stated.

Earlier this month, a dead cow was allegedly tied to a tractor-trolley and dragged on the road in Madhya Pradesh's Agar Malwa district, prompting the civic administration to sack two workers.
