Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], October 21 (ANI): Mumbai Police on Friday arrested a drug peddler who had been posing as a delivery boy and smuggling drugs from the Malad area.

Mephedrone (MD) drugs worth Rs 20 lakh was seized from him, officials said.

The accused drug peddler has been identified as Tofiq Ghulam Mohammed.

According to Mumbai's Malwani police officials, the police had received secret information that in the Malad Malwani area, the drug peddler used to smuggle drugs under the guise of delivery, after which the police laid a trap and nabbed him.

They apprehanded the drug peddler and recovered 200 grams of MD drugs from him.

The other accused who had come to collect the drug however managed to flee from the spot.

"The arrested accused has been under the NDPS Act, and we have initiated a search for the second accused, identified as Irfan Kader Shaikh," the police said. (ANI)
