Hamirpur (HP), Feb 24 (PTI) A Territorial Army jawan was killed in an accident while getting off a train when he was returning to Rishikesh after submitting his pension papers at his unit headquarters in Roorkee, officials said on Friday.
Naik Raj Kumar Sharma, a resident of Salauni village in Hamirpur district who was set to retire this year, fell while getting off a train at Rishikesh on Thursday. He was taken to the AIIMS Rishikesh where he died.

Sharma was cremated at his village with military honours Friday. Soldiers of a battalion in Jalandhar gave the last salute to the deceased.
Sharma, attached with the 174 Engineer Regiment of the Territorial Army, was posted in Jammu.

He visited his unit headquarters in Roorkee with retirement papers on February 20. The accident took place when he was returning from there.
Singh was seriously injured during an Army operation in Jammu about five years ago. He had received a gun shot in the leg. He underwent treatment for a long time and recovered.
Badsar MLA Indri Dutt Lakhan Pal and SDM Shashi Pal Sharma were present at his last rites. The local MLA gave a sum of Rs 5 lakh to the family of the deceased.
