Maharashtra: Police Sub-Inspector Crushed to Death by Liquor Mafia

Chandrapur (Maharashtra), Nov6 (ANI): A Sub-Inspector (SI) was allegedly crushed to death by liquor mafia in Maharashtra's Chandrapur district on Tuesday.

A Mahindra Scorpio van, transporting illicit liquor mowed down the PSI, Chhatrapati Chide, while he was on duty. The police officer died on the spot.

Sale of liquor is banned in Chandrapur district of Maharashtra.

The incident occurred at around 8:30 in the morning. The driver fled the spot after killing the official and is absconding since then.

The deceased Sub-Inspector was trying to stop the vehicle transporting liquor. On seeing the police, the driver instead of stopping, crushed him.

Police have registered a case and launched a massive manhunt to nab the driver.(ANI)
