Woman Among 3 Dead After Passenger Vehicle Falls into Gorge in JK
Three persons, including a woman, were today killed and seven others injured when a passenger vehicle skidded off a road and fell into a deep gorge in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said.
Jammu, Aug 13 (PTI) Three persons, including a woman, were today killed and seven others injured when a passenger vehicle skidded off a road and fell into a deep gorge in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, police said.
The incident occurred near Gursai Parnav when the driver of a car, on his way to Surankote from Mandhar, lost control over the vehicle while negotiating a curve on the hilly road, a police officer said.
He said a rescue operation was launched immediately soon after the vehicle rolled down into the 250 feet gorge.
The rescuers found one person dead on the spot and the rest of the passengers were seriously injured, the official said, adding that the injured were evacuated to a hospital, where two more persons, including a woman, succumbed to their injuries.
