Mumbai, March 17: Skoda Auto India is set to officially announce the prices for the Kushaq facelift on March 21, 2026, marking the first major update to the mid-size SUV since its debut. The launch comes nearly two months after the vehicle was first showcased on January 20, bringing a comprehensive suite of aesthetic and mechanical enhancements designed to strengthen its position in a highly competitive segment.
The updated Kushaq introduces several notable changes "under the skin," most significantly a new automatic transmission for its entry-level engine. While bookings for the SUV are already open at dealerships across the country, the company is expected to commence customer deliveries by the end of this month. Skoda Kushaq Design and Interior Refinements
The facelifted Kushaq features a revised front fascia characterized by a wider grille, which now includes an embedded lightbar on the higher-spec models. The exterior design is further updated with revamped LED headlamps featuring integrated Daytime Running Lights (DRLs), redesigned front and rear bumpers, and new alloy wheel patterns.
Inside the cabin, the changes are subtle but focused on premium appeal. The top-tier variants now feature a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a shift toward lighter black and beige upholstery. Skoda has also replaced the previous gloss trim with matte-finished inserts to reduce reflections and improve the tactile feel of the dashboard.
Skoda Kushaq Features
Skoda has expanded the equipment list to include several premium features, most notably the addition of a massage function for the outer rear seats. This is a unique offering in the mid-size SUV segment, typically reserved for luxury vehicles. The updated 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system now incorporates a Google Automotive AI-powered voice assistant for improved connectivity.
Other standard and optional features retained or updated for the 2026 model include a panoramic sunroof, ventilated and power-adjustable front seats, auto-dimming IRVM, and automatic climate control. The vehicle will be available in five distinct trim levels: Classic+, Signature, Sportline, Prestige, and the range-topping Monte Carlo.
The most significant mechanical update is the introduction of a new 8-speed torque converter automatic gearbox for the 1.0-litre TSI turbo-petrol engine, replacing the outgoing 6-speed unit. This change is intended to improve gear shifts and overall fuel efficiency for the three-cylinder engine. Audi SQ8 Launch in India on March 17; Bookings Open.
The 1.5-litre TSI engine remains unchanged, continuing to offer the 7-speed DSG (dual-clutch transmission) for those seeking higher performance. Both engines will also be available with a standard manual transmission. These updates aim to address consumer feedback regarding drivability and tech-integration as Skoda faces increasing competition from both domestic and international manufacturers.
