EXCLUSIVE: Swaragini’s Helly Shah On Her TV Comeback – ‘I Was Offered Similar Characters But Wanted To Do Something Challenging’!

Prateek Sharma’s LSD Films is all set to present to its audience a love story set amidst a Muslim backdrop. Titled Sufiyana Ishq, the makers have locked in actor Helly Shah and Rajveer Singh. While Helly became an audience favourite with Swaragini, Rajveer won hearts in Star Plus’ Kya Qusoor Hai Amla Ka. We spoke to Helly who confirmed the development and revealed that while she was getting lots of offers after Devanshi, she was not keen on taking up roles that she had already done in the past. She said that she wanted to play a fresh character and that her role is Sufiyana Ishq, is something that her fans have never seen her do.

"I'm happy to be part of Sufiyana Ishq as the makers are giving me an opportunity to play a great and extremely challenging role and that’s all I can say as of now. I wanted to wait for the correct time to return back on the screens. I was in no hurry as was in need of a break to enjoy my life, travel and explore places,” revealed Helly.

In fact, she also went on to say, “Even after my previous show Devanshi went off air, I was flooded with new offers, but I wasn't keen to play characters that I’d either played or others are playing on screen already. I always look for something new, fresh and challenging.”

Helly, who is known for shows like Alaxmi — Humari Super Bahu as Alaxmi and Swaragini — Jodein Rishton Ke Sur hopes to receive love from fans for her new show that will soon air on Star Plus.

"I'm really blessed and looking forward to my upcoming show. The sets and camera bring lots of joy and happiness to me. I am just keeping my fingers crossed and hope my fans love me the same way that they did before," concludes Helly.
