Mumbai, December 30: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has rescheduled one exam each for Class 10 and Class 12, which were earlier set for March 3, 2026. The Class 10 exam will now be held on March 11, 2026, while the Class 12 exam has been postponed to April 10, 2026, more than a month later than originally planned. The board has confirmed that all other exams for both classes will continue as per the original timetable. CBSE also clarified that no other subjects have been affected by the change, and students are advised to follow the updated schedule.
The revision affects students across both secondary and senior secondary levels. For Class 10, the March 3 slot previously held several elective and language subjects, including German, Tibetan, NCC, Japanese, and Kashmiri, among others. These will now take place on March 11, 2026. NTA UGC NET Admit Card 2025 Out at gcnet.nta.nic.in: National Testing Agency Releases Hall Ticket for December 31 Examination, Know Steps To Download.
Class 12 students face a more significant shift for the Legal Studies paper. Originally slated for early March, the exam will now be conducted on April 10, 2026. CBSE officials clarified that these changes will be reflected in the formal admit cards issued to students closer to the exam period.
Strategic Preparation for High Scores in CBSE Board Exam
As the revised schedule takes effect, academic experts are emphasising that scoring above 90% depends as much on presentation as it does on knowledge. Key recommendations for students include adopting a point-wise answering format and using flowcharts or diagrams to illustrate complex concepts. Experts suggest that underlining keywords and maintaining a neat layout can significantly influence an examiner’s evaluation, particularly in high-weightage subjects like Science and Social Science.
Mastering the Answer-Writing Process
- Identify Instruction Words: Pay close attention to terms like "analyze," "justify," or "describe," as each requires a different depth of response.
-
Show Step-wise Solutions: In Mathematics and Physics, marks are often awarded for the correct process and formulas, even if the final calculation is incorrect.
-
Time Management: Allocate time based on the marks assigned to each section to avoid rushing through the final pages of the paper.
The board has encouraged students to continue their preparation according to the original datesheet for all other subjects. Schools have been instructed to communicate these changes immediately to prevent confusion.
