New Delhi, August 3: An encounter was underway between terrorists and security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district on Saturday. The gunfight broke out after terrorists opened fire at a search party in Malmapanpora area of Sopore. An Army personnel was injured in the exchange of fire. The area was cordoned off by security forces and the operation was underway.

Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) on Friday asked Indian airlines to be prepared to operate extra flights to and from Srinagar to fly out Amarnath Yatris and tourists from the Valley. The order came after the Jammu and Kashmir government issued a security advisory asking pilgrims and tourists to immediately curtail their stay in the Valley and "return as soon as possible".
