The Narpoli police have arrested an 18-year-old man for allegedly s*xually assaulting a seven-year-old girl in the Bhiwandi taluka of Thane district. The arrest was executed within two hours of the victim's parents registering an official complaint. The incident occurred on Thursday afternoon when the victim and her 10-year-old brother were playing outside their residential building.

According to authorities, the accused lured the siblings away with the promise of snacks, giving the brother a ₹50 note to purchase water. The suspect then allegedly dragged the young girl to his nearby rented flat, where he tied her up, gagged her, and committed the assault. The victim returned home later that evening and related the details to her parents, who immediately approached the Narpoli police station. The accused has been booked under the relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
