Bilaspur Police questioned a man on Saturday, August 8, for allegedly taking part in a black magic, 'tantric' ritual at a cremation ground, using a photograph of the Chief Justice of the Chhattisgarh High Court in an alleged bid to secure bail for a relative. Police said the ritual took place at a cremation ground in Devri village under Sipat police station limits on the intervening night of Friday, August 7, and Saturday, August 8.

What Happened at the Cremation Ground?
According to police, villagers noticed the four men at the cremation ground and became suspicious of their activities. After confronting them, three of the men allegedly fled, while Kumar was caught and handed over to the police.

Tantric Ritual Allegedly Linked to Bail Plea
During questioning, Kumar allegedly told police that his relative, Priyanshu Bole, had been arrested along with several others in connection with a stabbing case. According to police, one of the accused had secured bail, while the bail applications of the remaining accused were still pending before the court.
Kumar allegedly told investigators that he and three friends went to the cremation ground after watching a video featuring a tantrik who claimed that performing such a ritual could help secure bail. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the alleged ritual and the role of the other men who were reportedly present at the site.
Photographs of Judge, Accused and Victim Recovered
Police said one of the photographs recovered from the spot was of Chief Justice Ramesh Sinha. Another photograph was reportedly of Priyanshu Bole, the accused in the stabbing case, while a third photograph was of the victim in that case. The recovery of the photographs has become a key part of the police inquiry into the alleged ritual.
SP Rajnesh Singh said further investigation was underway and warned that strict action would be taken against people involved in such practices. "Bail can not be obtained by performing any ritual. Criminals should reform themselves," he said. Police are continuing to investigate the incident and are examining whether other people were involved in the alleged ritual at the cremation ground.
