The Indian Air Force has embarked on a humanitarian and disaster relief mission to the earthquake-hit Indonesia. An earthquake followed by a Tsunami in Indonesia caused massive destruction in the country, with the death count confirmed to at least over 1,000 people. After the 7.5-magnitude earthquake and a 20-foot tsunami on Friday, the Indonesian city of Palu is reeling under the catastrophic earthquake and tsunami.

It has been three days after the natural disasters struck the city of Palu, a city with a population of about 3,80,000 people, but dead bodies are still being found and some bodies are still feared to be trapped under the building sheets. Authorities said that some remote areas were yet to be contacted. A lack of heavy lifting equipment hampered rescuers' attempts to reach people stuck under collapsed buildings, the BBC reported.

The Indonesian police on Tuesday informed that they had arrested dozens of people for looting on the quake and tsunami-struck island of Sulawesi, where survivors have raided shops for water, food and other goods.
