Mumbai, March 25: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has emerged as the world’s most popular global leader with an approval rating of 68 per cent, according to the latest survey released by Morning Consult. The survey, based on data collected between March 2 and March 8, 2026, shows that 26 per cent of respondents disapprove of Modi, while 6 per cent did not express an opinion.

The firm said the ratings reflect a seven-day moving average of public opinion among adults in each country surveyed. Other Global Leaders in the Rankings

Following Modi, Guy Parmelin ranks second with a 62 per cent approval rating and relatively low disapproval levels. Lee Jae-myung also secured a similar approval rating but with higher disapproval at 30 per cent. Leaders from other countries also featured in the rankings. Mark Carney placed within the top 10, drawing approval from 55 per cent of respondents.

Donald Trump Ranks 14th

UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer registered 24 per cent approval, while French President Emmanuel Macron had the lowest rating in the list at 17 per cent, accompanied by a high disapproval figure.

According to Morning Consult, the approval ratings are updated regularly and are calculated using a rolling average to provide a more stable measure of public sentiment. The latest figures were updated on March 9, 2026. The survey captures opinions from multiple countries, offering a comparative snapshot of how global leaders are perceived domestically.

Earlier this year, Narendra Modi also became the first global leader to cross 100 million followers on Instagram. Since joining the platform in 2014, his account has grown into one of the most widely followed and actively engaged profiles among world leaders.
