Sultanpur Double Murder: School Principal and Wife Found Dead on School Premises

A government school headmaster and his wife, who ran a private educational institution, were found murdered on Tuesday morning at their school premises in Kumbhi Dadiya village of Uttar Pradesh’s Sultanpur district. Police said the bodies bore injuries apparently caused by sharp and blunt weapons, and an axe, spade and knife were recovered from the spot, according to a report.

Bodies Found on School Campus

The couple lived on or near the school premises. Their deaths came to light around 7 am when a school employee arrived to collect vehicle keys and found the bodies. Vinita was found inside the private school premises, while Mukesh's body was located about 150 metres away.

Police said Vinita appeared to have been attacked inside a room. Investigators are also examining whether Mukesh attempted to flee before being attacked nearby. Police Begin Investigation

Sultanpur Superintendent of Police Vineet Jaiswal and Kadipur Circle Officer Vinay Gautam reached the scene along with local police personnel. The bodies were sent for post-mortem examination as investigators began collecting evidence.

Police are examining the circumstances surrounding the killings and working to establish the motive and identify the person or persons responsible. As of Tuesday, no confirmed motive had been established.

Mukesh Was Teachers' Association Leader

Mukesh was also associated with a teachers' organisation and was reportedly contesting a teachers' union election scheduled for September 30. The election had been postponed on September 28, according to the Times of India report.

He began his career as a Shiksha Mitra and became an assistant teacher in 2009. The couple had established their educational institution in the village in 2002.

Vinita's private school had around 15 teachers and employees, according to the report.

Personal, Property Disputes Among Possible Angles

Police are examining multiple possible angles, including personal and property-related disputes. Officials have not drawn a conclusion about the motive and are continuing to investigate.

The couple is survived by their 20-year-old son, Abhyuday, who is studying at a university in Delhi. Further details are expected as the investigation progresses and the post-mortem findings become available.
