Dehradun, November 19: The results of the Uttarakhand urban civic body elections which was held on November 18 across 82 0f 92 urban local bodies (ULBs) in the state will be announced tomorrow i.e. November 20, after the counting of votes by Election commission. According to the report, the polling for ULB elections saw an average turnout of 60% in most of the districts. Uttarakhand Civic Elections 2018: Voting Underway For 84 Urban Local Bodies, Results on November 20.

According to state election commission, the polling was held peacefully in all the 84 urban bodies including 39 municipal councils, seven municipal corporation and 38 Nagar panchayats. Repolling of ward no 106, 107 and 108 of Udhampur Singh Nagar district was held on Monday as the polling had to stop due to the technical error.

During the wake of elections, the security in the state was tightened. Nearly 10,000 policemen, 4,000 home guards, 2,000 PRD jawans were deployed in the towns and cities. The polling results will be the brute mandate for the Trivendra Singh Rawat led-BJP government in the state. The election was contested in 1, 064 wards across the 84 ULBs, and the fate of 4,978 candidates in the fray would be sealed tomorrow.
