Amaravati, April 8: Elections in Gudivada, Gudur, Guntakal, Guntur East and Guntur West constituencies of Andhra Pradesh Assembly will be held on April 11. The results of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections will be declared on May 23. In the 2014 polls, the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) won Gudivada, Gudur and Guntur East, while the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) bagged Guntakal and Guntur West. This is the first election that will take place after the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh. While the Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) are also in the fray, the main electoral contest is between the TDP and the YSRCP. The process of filing nomination for Gudivada, Gudur, Guntakal, Guntur East and Guntur West elections began from March 18 and the last day was March 25. Scrutiny was done on March 26 and the last date for the withdrawal of the nominations was March 28. In the 2014 Assembly polls in Andhra Pradesh, the TDP won 102 seats, while the YSRCP bagged 67 seats. The BJP got four and the Navodyam Party (NP) got one. An independent candidate also won from a seat.
