In yet another case of online fraud in Mumbai, a city-based doctor was allegedly duped over Rs 7 lakh in an alleged "share market scam". The incident came to light after the woman doctor lodged a complaint with the police about the scam. In her complaint, the doctor said she lost more than Rs 7 lakh in a "share market scam" between April 15-17. The doctor also alleged that she got influenced and decided to make an investment after she saw a deepfake reel of industrialist Mukesh Ambani on Instagram. The victim told cops that she was added to a WhatsApp group through a link and assured of profits.
