Conviction in Juvenile Case
Earlier this week, a jury convicted Roberts of felony carnal knowledge of a juvenile and indecent behavior with a juvenile. The charges stem from a 2023 incident that prosecutors said occurred during a pool party. According to prosecutors, Roberts was intoxicated at the time of the encounter. Under Louisiana law, individuals convicted of such felonies must register as s*x offenders, requiring Roberts to report to local law enforcement shortly after the verdict.
Evidence Presented During Trial
During the two-week trial, prosecutors presented multiple pieces of digital and testimonial evidence. This included text messages between Roberts and her teenage son, who reportedly raised concerns about the victim’s age and the consequences of the incident. Sentencing Scheduled for April
Despite the conviction, Roberts has maintained her innocence throughout the trial and did not issue an apology to the victim. She is currently out on bond while awaiting sentencing.
Roberts is scheduled to appear in court on April 17, when a judge will determine the length of her prison sentence. Until then, she must comply with Louisiana’s s*x offender registry requirements, including providing her address, employment details, and a photograph for public records.
