Donald Trump Tweets ‘Looking Forward to Seeing Kim in Not Too Distant Future’, a Day After Receiving ‘Beautiful Letter’ From North Korean Leader

Washington, August 10: United States President Donald Trump on Saturday said that he is looking forward to meeting Supreme Leader of North Korea Kim Jong-un to discuss the elusive goal of denuclearization. A day after receiving a 'very beautiful letter' from Kim, Trump also revealed the content of the letter on Twitter. Donald Trump Says Kim Jong Un Made 'Small Apology' for Missile Tests and Wants to Resume Denuclearization Talks.

In a tweet about the recent letter from Kim Jong, the US President said N Korean leader "stated, very nicely, that he would like to meet and start negotiations as soon as the joint U.S./South Korea joint exercise is over." He also added that most of the letter was complaining about the "ridiculous and expensive" exercises with South Korea. Trump Says He Received 'Beautiful Letter' from N Korean Leader Kim Jong-un.

"It was also a small apology for testing the short-range missiles, and that this testing would stop when the exercises end. I look forward to seeing Kim Jong Un in the not too distant future! A nuclear-free North Korea will lead to one of the most successful countries in the world!" Trump said.

On Friday, Trump said that he received a "beautiful letter" on Thursday from Kim Jong-un. Both the leaders have met three times and the major focus was on denuclearisation of the Korean Peninsula.
