Two men were arrested for allegedly snatching mobile phones from west Delhi's Janakpuri area, police said Thursday.
New Delhi, Jan 10 (PTI) Two men were arrested for allegedly snatching mobile phones from west Delhi's Janakpuri area, police said Thursday.
The accused were identified as Aman Kanyal (23) and Mukesh Kanyal (26), they added.
On Wednesday, police received information that the two men will come to meet their associates at DDA market in Janakpuri.
Later, a trap was laid near the market and the two cousins were apprehended, a senior police officer said.
Six mobile phones were seized from their possession, the officer added. PTI NIT ***********************
3 arrested in separate incidents for supplying illicit liquor
New Delhi, Jan 10 (PTI) Three men were arrested in two separate incidents for allegedly supplying illicit liquor in southeast Delhi's Sarita Vihar area, police said Thursday.
The accused were identified as Rajbir (40), Akhilesh (32) and Musharaf Ansari (35), they added.
On Tuesday at around 11.15 pm, one car from Jasola Village side, was signalled to stop but the driver tried to flee, a senior police official said, adding that police managed to arrested two people after a brief chase.
Police seized 28 cartons of illicit liquor from their car, the official said.
In another incident, 12 cartons of illicit liquor were seized and one person was arrested in this connection, police said.
The incident took place at around 9.25 am in Jasola Vihar, police said.
One country-made pistol was seized from the man's possession, they added. PTI NIT ************************
Arms supplier nabbed from Kashmere Gate
New Delhi, Jan 10 (PTI) A man was arrested for allegedly supplying illegal arms in Kashmere Gate, police said Thursday.
The accused was identified as Vishnu Dutt, a resident of Hapur in Uttar Pradesh, they added.
On Sunday, police received information that Dutt would come near Jamuna Bazar Bridge, Kashmere Gate to deliver a consignment of illegal weapons to a local criminal, police said.
Later, a trap was laid and Dutt was apprehended, they said, adding that seven country-made pistols and four live cartridges were recovered from his possession. PTI *************************
Two held for killing man
New Delhi, Jan 10 (PTI) Two people were arrested for allegedly killing a man and injuring another over personal enmity, police said Thursday.
The accused were identified as Karan (23) and Kunal (23), residents of Kirari, they added.
On December 13, 2018, one Anuj was killed and another person Sachin was injured during a brawl, police said.
On Wednesday, police received information that the two accused would come near Rohini Sector-16. Subsequently, a trap was laid and the two were apprehended, they added. PTI NIT

Army jawan commits suicide
New Delhi, Jan 10 (PTI) An Army jawan allegedly committed suicide after hanging himself from a ceiling fan at a guest house in north Delhi's Lahori Gate, police said Thursday.
The incident took place last week.
The deceased was identified as Ashok Singh, a native of Roorkee, police said.
The body was handed over to family members after postmortem, a senior police officer said.
Singh was posted at Assam and had come to Delhi on leave. It is suspected that Singh was depressed over some family dispute following which he took this extreme step, the officer said.
However, no suicide note was found at the spot, he added.
