New Delhi, Jun 19 (PTI) Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav said that they will take other opposition parties along against the BJP in 2019 Lok Sabha elections without "annoying anyone".

"In politics, we cannot annoy anyone. We are ready to make alliance with other parties to take on the BJP in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections," the former Uttar Pradesh chief ministers told reporters here.

He said in a bid to defeat the BJP, some seats can be given to other parties.

"The idea is to defeat BJP... on the lines of Kairana (LS bypoll), our candidates can contest on symbol of other parties," he said.

Yadav said that it was difficult to say whether his party would contest the Madhya Pradesh Assembly polls alone or as part of a larger alliance.

"But we will definitely contest the polls," he told reporters.

Responding to a poser, he ruled out meeting Congress president Rahul Gandhi and Delhi Chief Minster Arvind Kejriwal during his stay here.

"I am not here to meet anyone. I have no such programme," he said.

The SP and the Congress had fought the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections as an alliance.
