Mumbai, Jun 19 (PTI) Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis today directed the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation to take about 2,700 sanitation workers in regular service within three months.

There were difficulties in regularising the service of these employees because of discrepancies in English spellings of their names in documents, an official release said.

The chief minister chaired a meeting at Mantralaya today where the issue was discussed, sources said.

They should be taken into service as per the directions of the Supreme Court, and where there are discrepancies in names, indemnity bonds should be obtained from them, the chief minister directed.
