Delhi Police Receives 774 Calls on Its Helpline Regarding Lockdown in 24 Hrs

The Delhi Police received over 750 calls on its 24x7 helpline number from 2 pm on Monday and the same time on Tuesday, seeking assistance on issues faced during the lockdown, officials said.

New Delhi, May 5 (PTI) The Delhi Police received over 750 calls on its 24x7 helpline number from 2 pm on Monday and the same time on Tuesday, seeking assistance on issues faced during the lockdown, officials said.

In total, the police have received 37,626 calls so far on its helpline number (23469526), they said. 

According to the police, 774 calls were received from 2 pm on Monday to 2 pm on Tuesday. Of them, 67 calls were related to areas outside Delhi, which were referred to respective state helpline numbers.

Nearly 2,22,876 persons were given food packets while 2004 people were given dry ration at more than 250 locations by the Delhi police so far with the involvement of NGOs and good samaritans, a senior police official said. 

Besides, Delhi Police in association with North East Council has also distributed 50 dry ration kits, each containing rice, wheat flour, pulse, salt, oil and spices, in Shahpur Jat Pulia and Hauz Khas, he said.
