Delhi Police Seizes over 25,000 Pirated NCERT Books
Delhi Police has seized over 25,000 pirated NCERT books that were being printed at a press in east Delhi's Gazipur area and arrested a man in connection with the case, officials said Wednesday.
New Delhi, March 13 (PTI) Delhi Police has seized over 25,000 pirated NCERT books that were being printed at a press in east Delhi's Gazipur area and arrested a man in connection with the case, officials said Wednesday.
The arrest was made on Tuesday after police received a tip off, following which they raided the spot along with an NCERT team, they added.
During the raid, huge quantity of pirated NCERT books, reel papers with NCERT water mark and those without water mark were found at the printing press, a senior police official said.
Printing of NCERT or National Council Of Educational Research And Training books were being carried out by around 30-35 workers and over 25,000 books were recovered, he said.
A case has been registered against the accused for infringement of Copyright Act and causing financial loss and damage to the NCERT's reputation, police said.
NCERT books of various subjects like Hindi, Mathematics, English, Chemistry, Economics of senior classes, including class X and XII, were being printed there for the last one year, police said.
