New Delhi, Aug 30 (PTI) The strike by a group of nursing students at the prestigious Lady Hardinge Medical College here entered its second day today with students threatening to "intensify" the agitation if their demands were not met.
"We are sitting on strike for the last two days seeking redressal of our issues like quality of food in the mess, water supply in hostels, among other issues,” said a nursing student, on the condition of anonymity.
The nursing students' union has alleged that the quality of food served in the mess is "very bad" and "water supply in their hostels is erratic".
"We want the authorities to listen to us and address our issues. Some LHMC officials came to us and informed that a meeting has been arranged for tomorrow, where the LHMC director and the college principal would also be present," she said.
"If our demands are met tomorrow, then we will end the strike but, if not, then the students' union will intensify the stir," the nursing student said.
