Guwahati (Assam) [India], June 25 (ANI): Director General of Assam Police (DGP) GP Singh on, inaugurated the 9th All India Police Judo Cluster at the Karmabeer Nabin Chandra Bordoloi Indoor Stadium, Sarusajai, in Guwahati.

The event saw the presence of DG Home Guards and Special DGP (HQ) Harmeet Singh, along with senior Civil and Police officers, guests, renowned sports personalities, school students and participant sportsmen, creating a vibrant and festive atmosphere.

The week-long sporting event that commenced today will run till June 30, featuring five martial arts disciplines - Judo, Karate, Taekwondo, Wushu, and Pencak Silat.

Around 1500 Athletes from 40 states police and organizations will compete in a spirit of healthy competition, showcasing their exceptional skills and talents.

Harmeet Singh delivered the welcome address, and Partha Sarathi Mahanta, IGP (STF) offered the vote of thanks.

In his speech, DGP Singh commended the athletes, encouraging them to enjoy the rainy weather and the scenic beauty of Assam.

During the opening ceremony, an oath was administered to the team captains, and the DGP unveiled the event's iconic mascot, Luit.

The ceremony was further enlivened by an enthralling Bihu performance. (ANI)
