Shimla (Himachal Pradesh) [India], June 7 (ANI): Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu released a folk song 'Shrikhand Mahadeva' sung by Anshul Kapoor under the banner of Abhigya - the Band.

The Chief Minister on Thursday after releasing the song appreciated the efforts of Abhigya - the Band for preserving the rich culture of Himachal Pradesh and expressed hope that the Band would continue its endeavours to promote the folk music of the State across the globe.

Notably, the representatives of the Band Gaurav Sharma, Gaurav Kanojia, Rohit Raj and Kennedy Shaw were also present on the occasion.

Earlier, Sukhu reviewed the various ongoing road projects being constructed by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI), the Ministry of Surface Transport and the Public Works Department in the state, an official statement said on Thursday.

CM Sukhu directed the departments to expedite the ongoing projects to meet the established timelines while ensuring quality in construction work.

He directed the NHAI authorities to fully develop the Shimla-Matour and Mandi-Pathankot roads into four lanes to facilitate smooth travel for commuters.

CM Sukhu said that the state government is developing Kangra district as the tourism capital of the state and both the four lanes would be significant in bolstering tourism activities. He stressed enhancing the aesthetic appeal of both the four lanes and emphasised the construction of tunnels to minimise unnecessary cutting of hills.

CM Sukhu said that after the completion of the four-lane projects, commuters will get monetary and time-saving benefits. He said that construction work on the Shimla-Nauni road segment will commence after the ensuing monsoon and is expected to be completed by September 2026. (ANI)
