New Delhi [India], September 10 (ANI): The Department of Posts, under the Ministry of Communications, is gearing up to mark a milestone in its commitment to Swachhata (cleanliness) and good governance with the launch of Special Campaign 3.0.

This campaign coincides with a decade of relentless efforts to deliver happiness to every citizen and uphold the values of Jan Bhagidaari (public participation), read the Ministry of Communications press release.

Special Campaign 2.0, which began on October 2 and continued through August 2023, showcased the department's unwavering dedication to cleanliness and good governance.

Notable achievements during this period include the closure of 840 e-files, the disposal of around 6 lakh files, the cleaning of 24,000 sites, and the disposal of scrap worth approximately 2.9 crore rupees, read the press release.

Additionally, over 2,90,000 public grievances were resolved, and 1,13,289 square feet of space was reclaimed.

The campaign also introduced several best practices, including the discontinuation of sealing wax in favour of eco-friendly seals, using wall art to convey ‘Swachhata’ messages, and the installation of solar power panels at DakBhawan, resulting in substantial energy savings, read the press release.

As the Special Campaign 3.0 takes shape in October 2023, India Post aims to consolidate its decade-long Swachhata initiatives.

The department plans to draw a roadmap for the future, highlighting initiatives that can be implemented in collaboration with stakeholders across the national postal network, read the release.

"Jan Chetana" and "Jan Bhagidaari" activities will engage communities around post offices, ensuring a participatory approach to improve services.

India Post's enduring commitment to Swachhata, good governance, and Jan Bhagidaari continues to make a positive impact on both its service environment for customers and working conditions for employees, read the release.
