India News | J-K: 3 High-tech Poly Houses Will Be Operational in Rajouri in Winter, Says Official

Rajouri (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], July 29 (ANI): Rajouri Chief Agriculture Officer, Sohan Singh, said on Monday that three high-tech poly houses that will be functional in the coming winters are being installed to provide benefits to the farmers.

He further said that the farmer training institute in Lamberi would be functional by the month of December.

"We are providing goods, seeds, and chemicals to the farmers on subsidy. We are motivating farmers to experiment with new techniques and new varieties of seeds...Three Hi-Tech polyhouses are being installed to provide benefits to the farmers and they will be operationalized in winter."

He further said they are providing subsidies to farmers on agricultural implements as well.

He added, "I urge the farmers to take advantage of the schemes...The farmer training institute will be ready by the month of December in Lamberi to train farmers..."

The official further added that the Lamberi training institute is on its way to becoming a model farm. "We would be providing training on mushroom cultivation, apiculture, and vegetable cultivation..."

He also referred to the Holistic Agriculture Development Program (HADP), which was termed by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha as "a game-changer for Jammu and Kashmir's agriculture and allied sectors that could address challenges faced by farmers."

Earlier in March, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated initiatives worth nearly Rs 5,000 crore for boosting the agri-economy in Jammu and Kashmir during his maiden visit to the Valley since the abrogation of Article 370 by his government.
