Kistwar (Jammu and Kashmir) [India], October 3 (ANI): Security forces launched a joint search operation in the Kistwar district of Jammu and Kashmir on Thursday afternoon, police said.

According to the Jammu and Kashmir police, contact has been established and a few rounds of bullets have been fired.

Earlier in the day, an encounter broke out during a search operation in the Chatroo area of Kishtwar.

"Based on specific intelligence about the presence of terrorists, a joint search operation was launched by security forces at Chatroo, Kishtwar, according to the Jammu and Kashmir police.

"Contact has been established, and a few rounds of bullets have been fired from both sides. Further details awaited," they added. (ANI)
